Walking is both a physical movement of the body and metaphysical movement of
mapping through thinking/feeling/wondering, like pigeons taking flight from the side of a
cobbled stone pavement and landing somewhere new in the spur of the moment.
This project explores the curious nature of walking and how the art of walking creates conditions of possibility for new understandings to emerge about myself in relation to my world.
I realized, overtime, my walks shaped who I am and I my walks. My being-ness – my pace, steps, emotional/mental state – was in dialogue with my surroundings, participating in a semi-impromptu dance with and through my surroundings as I stopped, slowed, wondered with my surroundings. Perhaps, we are always ‘walking-with’, an open dialogical exchange of my being with the physical and metaphysical phenomena of my world.
